🚌National School Bus Safety Week! Here are some quick tips to keep in mind: 🚦 Always stop when you see those flashing red lights and the extended stop arm. Let's protect our students as they hop on and off the bus. 👫 Teach your children the importance of safe bus behavior – stay seated, keep the noise down, and follow the driver's instructions. 👁️ Stay alert and watch out for kids at bus stops. Safety is everyone's responsibility. 🤝 Let's work together as a community to make sure every student feels safe on their way to school. Let's make this week a time to appreciate our incredible transportation department and bus drivers, who are dedicated to keeping our students safe every day. 🚌💜

2024-2025 Campus Safe and Drug-Free Plan Johnson STEM seeks to foster a safe and drug-free environment. The comprehensive needs assessment indicates that the programs and services that we have been providing have been successful in limiting the number of incidences on our campus. Our mission is to develop and implement strategies for all students and staff that positively impact the safe environment necessary for student learning. We seek to prevent any and all illegal drug or violent occurrences from occurring on our campus. Johnson STEM goal is to convey the clear and consistent message that the illegal use of drugs and acts of violence are wrong and harmful. In order to reach our goals, Johnson STEM plans to: ● Application of the school-wide positive intervention systems (A B C’s) that emphasizes teaching proper behaviors and that are reinforced with positive incentives. ● Continue implementation and use of the PBIS Tracker App and the School PBIS incentive store. ● Classroom lessons in 6-8 grade, taught by the Counselor, on bullying prevention and reporting. ● Monitor, communicate, and use “Crime Stoppers” for school harassment, violence and bullying. ● Continue with implementation of Bulldogs Take a Stand, an early intervention bullying-prevention program. ● The use of all staff members in assisting with dismissal which includes loading buses, daycare students, and monitoring parent pick-up. ● Involvement of parents in “PTO” , SBDM, and as a school volunteer. ● Continue participation in Red Ribbon Drug Abuse Prevention Week with the addition of grade level appropriate classroom lessons regarding substance abuse.

● Implement meetings between Behavior Interventionist, classroom teachers, parents and students in order to review Behavior Intervention Plans for specific students that are at-risk and make timely appropriate changes as necessary. ● Continuation of counseling services to at-risk students that require support in dealing with behaviors that could lead to inappropriate behaviors. ● Develop a social skills training group by the school counselor for specific students.
