All students below the 8th grade and below are required to be accompanied by a paying adult in order to attend home games. Parents are responsible for their own children. Students 8th grade and below not accompanied by a paying adult will not be allowed into home contests. No Exception! All parents and visitors must sit on the appropriate side.🏀

The transportation department would like to advise that we have a temporary change to Route 26. This route will combine between Route 13 and 14. Please check with your student for updated information.

Character Traits! Burciaga's students identified character traits for either Odysseus or Polyphemus. Students were instructed to write words that describe their chosen character alongside with textual evidence to support their traits.

Sam Cooke! Instructor Lee's and Instructor Shed's B Day 7th grade classes were able to visit the Bass Hall on January 20th to watch Sam Cooke perform. Sam Cooke is referred to as "The King of Soul." Our students represent Roy Johnson STEM Academy well.

STEM Robots! Etchison's students are at it again. Using long-exposure photography concepts, students programmed their Sphero robots to create fantastic scenes using the LED matrix on the robots. Students really get to explore many things at Roy Johnson STEM Academy!

8th Grade Science! Instructor Bural's and Instructor Patterson's classes are working on W.I.N.D. stations. Students are looking at the "W" -Water Cycle and Wind Map, "I" - Interactive Convection Currents, "N" - Notice and Sorting, "D" - Describing with CER (Claims Evidence and Reasoning).

STEM Robots! Instructor Etchison puts a different spin on reading. After hearing the story of the tortoise and the hare, students programmed their robots to compete in races to observe the differences in speed vs control. keeps learning fun.

Text Evidence! Instructor Burciaga's students search for text evidence using annotation strategies in order to support their answers. Students are working hard to master this skill. Keep up the great work!

National Thesaurus Day is January 18th! Today's challenge: 1) Use a thesaurus to find the right word in your writing. 2) Challenge friends/family to describe people/places in as many words possible without using a thesaurus. Then ,use a thesaurus to see how descriptions improve

Robots! Students were challenged to create their own obstacle course and navigate their Sphero robots to the finish line. To command their robots, students had to create a program using block code.
