Dean of Instruction - Mayra Fernandez

Mayra Fernández attended Texas Wesleyan University where she earned both her Bachelor of  Arts degree in EC-6 Bilingual and Master of Education in Second Language Education and Culture. Prior to teaching in the United States, Ms. Fernández taught abroad in Ecuador and Peru. Her studies and travels have inspired her advocacy for education as a human right. 

In the last 10 years, Ms. Fernández has had experience in bilingual and secondary education. She has served in many capacities simultaneously, evolving with each opportunity. Ms. Fernández has a growth mindset, actively seeking to build her knowledge, and develop and refine her craft to better serve all stakeholders.

Ms. Fernández’s ability to develop relationships and communicate allows her to understand the needs of students, teachers, and administrators to collaboratively accomplish tasks and goals. She has worked devotedly alongside administrators, teachers, and students to further assist in their needs and aspirations of promotion and advancement. Ms. Fernández has proactively led with passion, crucial conversations, data, resources, strategies, motivation, faith, and detailed plans of action.
